Eoraptor lunensis (3D recon, snout view)

3D reconstruction of Eoraptor lunensis, with internal structures of the snout exposed to show pneumatic cavities located within. Pneumatic cavities are a feature in modern birds with a virtually unknown history. By using CT to look inside the nasal capsules of extinct dinosaurs, we can begin to trace the evolution of the internal structures of the nasal capsule, including its history of pneumatization.
