Stromatic migmatite derived from pelite (3D recon)
Structures in stromatic migmatite derived from pelite. Views show front and back sides of sample. Maximum dimension of specimen is 67 mm. Leucosome is rendered nearly transparent, and melanosome/mesosome components are partially transparent in shades of magenta. Garnet crystals are opaque yellow. The imagery allows one to visualize clearly the planar geometry of the leucosome. It is evident that garnets are rarely in contact with melanosome or mesosome, and never on both sides of the leucosome; the melt flow network consists of planar channels of low tortuosity.
